Cellulite skin conditions are actually more common than people think they are. This is probably why more and more myths about cellulite skin condition are popping up. Among the abundant myths, the following are the most common:

Only Fat Women Get Cellulite

A cellulite skin condition is not a condition reserved for fat people and definitely not just among fat women. It is true that 95% of women generally suffer from cellulite. There are however also thousands of men who also have the same condition.

Both men and women who have cellulite are also not necessarily fat or obese individuals. Even thin people can have cellulite. This is because there is some evidence that cellulite may be caused by genetic predispositions or increased estrogen hormone levels.

All I Need is Exercise

This is probably one of the most misunderstood myths. Exercise alone cannot eliminate cellulite that is already present. Some say this is because cellulite is a form of fat that is trapped and cannot be properly burned by exercise. Exercise however can effectively reduce your total body fat even before cellulite appears. Trim and fit people may have cellulite but the cellulite skin condition may be less visible in them and may be seen only by pinching cellulite areas.

An active lifestyle along with the right training exercise program can improve the blood flow which is crucial for toxic waste elimination. Having an active lifestyle therefore almost always beats a sedentary one.

All I Need is a Good Diet

This is also a statement that has received a lot of counter arguments. It is true that eating the right kinds of foods cannot erase cellulite. If you eat less fats and more grains, fruits and vegetables however, you will be able to reduce your body fat and clean up your system. Eating the proper diet can help you get more antioxidants that can fight free radicals that can make your cellulite skin condition worse.

Liposuction is the Only Solution For Me

It was once believed that liposuction is the only solution for the cellulite skin condition. This is no longer the case. Cellulite can actually get worse because of liposuction. Liposuction is also not for everyone. It is a surgical procedure that works best only among young patients. Liposuction is generally a shaping method and can only be used by people who are already more or less close to fit and would just like a little muscular or body definition.

There is No Solution for Cellulite

However severe your cellulite skin condition may be, there is always something you can do. Eating right and exercising can help prevent your condition from worsening. The right lifestyle however needs to be supplemented by other treatments. Some topical cellulite creams for example have been proven to be effective. It is true though that there are really topical rip off products that cannot really bring about any results. Some natural products however have shown great promise as cellulite treatments. Product with caffeine, green tea extract, algae extract and retinol A may be good products to use as cellulite treatment.

Panic attacks are sudden intense feelings of anxiety, fear and discomfort. The underlying cause of panic attack symptoms is the release of adrenaline into the bloodstream. This happens when the body responds to situations of extreme danger which is commonly referred to as fight or flight response. The trouble is when this release of adrenaline happens too regularly and unnecessarily, which leads to panic attacks.

Panic attacks can seemingly come from out of nowhere. You may be doing something very common that you do all the time, such as buying groceries, driving or just taking a walk. Then suddenly you are hit by a panic attack. Your hands start to shake uncontrollably, your breathing becomes shallow and quickens and you feel your heart beating faster and faster.

Negative thoughts will start to engulf the mind such as paranoia and unrealistic fears. The mind will believe that the worst possible things will happen; Things such as the ship sinking or the car from the other side of the road crashing in. All this regardless of the probability of it happening.

With panic attacks seemingly appearing out of nowhere and there being nothing specific that triggers it, panic attack sufferers live in fear as they dread that it might strike anytime, no matter where they are.

The most effective way to stop panic attacks is to face it head on. Don’t fight against the panic attack, instead let it come, befriend it and allow it to run it’s course. In other words, weather the storm of the panic attack. There are 2 reasons why taking this approach is good;

First, it is because fear feeds on fear. The more you fight against or try to avoid a panic attack, the more fear you are letting out. And as you do that you are feeding it and making the panic attack even stronger. However if you face it head on, the attack has nothing to feed on and slowly it’s energy will be drained.

Panic attacks are like roller coaster rides. You’ll notice that when you resist against the movement of the roller coaster, you will be more fearful and anxious. However when you go along with it, it will feel exhilarating. Remember, what you resist persists.

Second, every time you avoid or try to run away from a panic attack, you are only escaping from it until the next time it happens. However if you face the attack head on, accept it and go through it, you will experience the realization that there actually was no real danger at all. You will realize that you have not been harmed in any way whatsoever.

Through coming out of the panic attack unscathed and unharmed you will understand that these panic attacks are just the product of the illusions of danger in your mind. You will know that there actually is no real danger at all. This will give you a sense of relief and the experience will give you confidence to face subsequent panic attacks. By doing this, you are overcoming panic attacks.

Varicose Veins- it is something that you have probably heard your mother or grandmother, maybe even your father, talk about at one point or another. This condition affects 80 million Americans each year there are several treatment options available. With their knotted appearance and varying colors, it is understandable why so many people seek treatment.

In some cases of severe Varicose veins, pain and discomfort can be felt in the affected areas, most often the legs. The smaller and narrower veins are the “spider” variety, while the larger, deeper, and distended ones are the actual varicose veins. Standing up for long periods of time is one factor that can aggravate this condition and can cause additional pain.

The second method of treatment involves a variety of more aggressive methods which are laser treatment, Sclerotherapy for spider veins, and an ambulatory phlebectomy. The last method involves a local anesthetic that is given to the patient and that leaves imperceptible marks on the skin. Ambulatory Phlebectomy is also an outpatient surgery that is performed by Emory Healthcare at either of their Atlanta campuses.

Varicose and Spider Veins are both something that can cause a lot of emotional and physical discomfort for those who suffer with them but the treatment options that are available have all proven to be reliable and successful. Whether you want to try a more conservative treatment method like compressed stockings or something like a minimally invasive surgery, the time to take charge of your veins is now!

As you can see, whether you have had these veins for a long time or if they are just starting to pop up, if they are red, blue, or purple, or if they hurt, there is a treatment for you out there somewhere. Emory Healthcare also offers various other treatments for both Varicose and Spider Veins. When left untreated these veins tend to get worse so the best idea is to schedule an appointment with a professional as soon as you recognize the symptoms.
